Interbase DataPump Development

Many of Interbase DataPump users requesting for changes and useful features to be implemented and we usually do so in a matter of days (rarely weeks - depending from case and users demand).

This changes immediately accessible from our special build located at IBPumpFix.zip
If this file is not available that means that there is no changes to already released version.

Below we will post current tasks and modules we busy working on right now.
Status Completed means that this changes implementes and available for test.
Please note that there is no warranties that special build will work stable but we will try our best and run all tests locally before make it available to the public.

Development of Interbase DataPump was only possible because of demand and support form our users - buying support you will help us to spend more time on implementing new features.

Current special build version is 3.5s1 (special)

• Tested with Interbase version 7.5 and Firebird version 1.5.
  Status: completed
• Recompiled with most recent version of IBX components (version 5.09).
  Status: completed, available for testing
• The following charsets were added:
  DOS737, DOS775, DOS858, DOS862, DOS864, DOS866, DOS869, WIN1255, WIN1256, WIN1257, ISO8859_2, ISO8859_3, ISO8859_4, ISO8859_5, ISO8859_6, ISO8859_7, ISO8859_8, ISO8859_9, ISO8859_13, KOI8-R, KOI8-U
  Status: completed, available for testing
• Bug with conversion GUID / uniqueidentifier fields from MS SQL fixed. Reported by Gerhard Faber.
  Status: fixed, available for test
• Forms scaling issue with Large and Extra Large fonts fixed. Thanks to Olivier Steinberg for reporting this problem.
  Status: fixed, available for test
• Issue with copying of VARCHAR(xxx) field into BLOB filed fixed. Many thanks to Koby Peleg Hen for reporting this issue.

• Bug with disappearing generators which contains '$' symbol fixed. Many thanks to Roland Turcan for reporting this issue.

• Problem with MDAC 2.7 and indexes with more than one field fixeed.

• Use ADOX for ADO connection to obtain information about Table Referral Integrity, Field Defaults and Checks, Table Indexes, Database Users and Group names.
  Currently only information about Table Indexes accessible thru ADO connection.
  Borland ADO components has bug related to obtaining index definitions (example - index with more than one field).

• Add Global Params tab to Step 2 tab and support of Global Params for Custom SQL sources / destinations.
  Status: not started
• Save/Load Interbase DataPump profile (*.ibp) as text file (possible .ini file) and provide API and Delphi / BCB classes to read/write this profiles.

• Add multilanguage support

• Add dbExpress sources support.
  We already tried to add dbExpress support but turns out that dbExpress has some strange bugs and we had very low interest in that from our users so we decided to postpone development.
  Status: not started
• Add ability to sort destination tree.
  Currently destination tables sorted in order which they depend from each other (this is based on analysis of the referential constraints between tables - if there's no referential constraints in database tables will be in alphabetical order). This order should be used by default.
  Destination tree orders options are: pump order, descending, ascending
